A while ago I received Tortillas to the Rescue, which was written by Jessica Harlan. Now, I like tortillas or wraps as much as anyone else, but I had no clue that you can write a cook book about it. Most intriguing for me was the Sweet Endings section. You can use tortillas for dessert? Yes please!

Canning Apple Sauce – No Washing Machine required
Did you ever can before? In my 28 years I’ve never done it though I remember my mother doing that. Living in the GDR that was the way to preserve things from your garden. The more you canned the less you had to buy. So, when my mother-in-law offered some apples I jumped to the opportunity and said yes.
The most North American dessert I can think of: Apple pie. This was a real challenge as well because I made the dough myself. I’ve seen the pre-made shells at the store but I feel like it’s not genuine if I don’t make it myself. I don’t even use cake mixes (except for buttermilk pancakes, I should look for a good recipe).
