A not so cute looking cookie, but good nevertheless.
I seriously had to check which cookies I haven’t out up yet. Yes, after a while I start loose track of the recipe list. But alas, I have a handwritten list. *go me* So this time I’ll present you with some hazelnut cookies. Another one of those “but your arm strength in it, baby” recipes. Some kneading will be required of you.
I think if I bake some more I will end up with wrestler arms. 😀 I don’t recall this cookie being made during Christmas at my mom’s. Maybe she was hiding it from me or she made different shapes.
Ingredients:
– 200g ground hazelnut
– 200g flour
– 200g butter
– 100g sugar
Combine all ingredients well, kneading it into a ball. From little sticks and roll them in sugar. Place on a cookie sheet lined with baking paper. Bake at 180°C for about 8 to 10 min. Another option would be a cookie press for form your cookies. This is a dough that you can shape in any form you like.
Tip 1: As far as I know you don’t get ground hazelnut very well (at least not in the Canadian Prairies). You have to ground your own hazelnut in a food processor or you are lucky and someone from Germany sends you a package.
Pre-baking, little sticks of dough, covered in sugar.
Tip 2: I accidentally used too much sugar, which will make you dough crumbly. Add more butter to make it softer. Or just avoid the whole thing by measuring right.
Try the Bulk Barn for tha ground hazelnuts …they have a lot of ground nuts..
I don’t recall that they have ground hazelnut. I know they have whole but maybe I didn’t look too closely.
