My friend Maki asked me to do three desserts for her Studio Grand Opening: cake pops, cookies, and cupcakes. Since the cake pops were with fruit and the cookies were sugar cookies I decided she needed something with chocolate to balance the dessert table. The book “125 best Cupcake recipes” from Julie Hasson is really great for some inspiration. However, most of the chocolate cupcake recipes uses buttermilk and at that time I had none in my house. But fear not, there is a simple solution.

Home-made Banana Pudding
We have rather crappy weather these days which means there is only one course of action: bake, cook or make comfort food in any way you can. Pudding falls into that category. Banana is a favourit flavour of my husband so the other day I made him some home-made banana pudding. He was very happy.
Berry Cake Pops and Raspberry Cake
A friend of my, the talented Maki from Maki Fotos, asked me to make some cake pops for her Studio Grand Opening. She had a good idea of what she wanted and after some communication and brainstorming it was settled.
Food Blogs and Their Influence
Sometimes, as a food blogger, I am wondering how many people I reach and what kind of influence I have. Ok, I know how many people I reach thanks to the “My Stats” page on WordPress. And yes, on can get obsessed with those little gadgets, checking back so often to see if more people have visited me. But besides that, I am also wondering about how people perceive my page. Do they see it as a resource for recipes? As and inspiration to get into the kitchen and bake/cook? Are they attracted by the pictures or rather disgusted? (Some people don’t like food, right? Or at least not desserts.)
Graduation Cake Pops
As far as I understand it, it is graduation time right now. I am not sure of how the high school or even university schedule works, I have no kids. However, it seems to be a rather big deal in North American and there are many ways to celebrate it. Of course some form of dessert needs to be included and thus I was approached with the request of Graduation Cake Pops.
Cold Leek & Potato Soup – JC100 Week 5
It’s been a rather busy week with me, at work and at home. I barely had any time to make anything this week. However, I was able to make the Week 5 of JC100 recipe, Cold Leek & Potato Soup. The recipe is fairly easy and actually a base for many other French soups. It’s also nice during hotter days when you don’t feel like a big meal or anything hot.
Angry Birds Cake Pops and M&Ms Cake
A friend of mine asked me if I would make cake pops for her son’s birthday party. He particularly likes Angry Birds. You know, those little colourful birds which are angry at green pigs for some reason or another. I have no iPhone or Android so I do not play that game. (I know my husband does, once in a while.) So, here I am, making birds.
Baileys Mousse Au Chocolate – JC100 Week 2
This recipe is brought to you by the JC100 celebration. It is the 2nd week recipe (we are already on week 4 btw). When I saw this I thought “Yes!” because Mousse au Chocolate is probably one of the most famous French desserts out there, besides croissants I guess. Up until now I lacked a bit of time to actually make the recipe, but I finally set down and did it.
