So the other day I had my Baking and Cooking class again. I made a pumpkin soup and one pumpkin was left over. What to do with it? A bit of brain storming at the office and I had my solution. Let me tell you, the husband was excited and loved it.

In the Pumpkin Soup recipe I showed off some home-made bread bowls. These are relatively easy to make, I think, and I will share the recipe that I used with you today.
You might know that I am a member of a German Cooking and Baking Club here in Saskatoon. We have monthly events with a certain topic and the upcoming on is “Pumpkins & Apples”. It didn’t took me long to figure out what I wanted to do: Pumpkin soup!
Some weeks back I got a “Good Food Box” which had various vegetables and fruits in it as well as a bag of 7 Grain Cereal. It also included a recipe for how to use that cereal, specifically, how to make Seven Grain Bagels with it. By the way: “The Good Food Box is an alternative food distribution system that provides a variety of top-quality, fresh, nutritious foods at an affordable price.” (via CHEP)
Who doesn’t like a cocktail once in a while? Especially when you are out with some company in a nice little bar. At home though, no one really mixes is own cocktails, unless you have an awesome bar in your house or you are a bartender. Yet, once in a while you wish you could do that for a party you are giving. Regular cocktails though a bit boring. Fear not! “Poptails – 60 Boozy Treats Served on a Stick” will surely help you out.
It’s alsmost the first day of fall but frankly, I have been in fall mode for at least a week. I love this season because I was born in October and falling leaves, changing colour, and the slightly cool and crisp air with some sunshine just get to me. Apples of course play a big role in fall so here we go with another apple recipe.
Autumn is not jut the right time for apples and soup, it is also the perfect time for cabbage. I am sure most of you know about Cabbage Rolls but maybe not the way my family makes them.
Here in Saskatoon we have a pretty high density of restaurants per capita, which means you have a big choice when it comes to dining out. Finding a good restaurant can be a challenge though. Aroma, the Mediterranean restaurant in the Radisson Hotel, is a good choice for an evening out.
