Like every family, mine has certain dishes that are a staple. It’s those dishes that identify us as a family. Many have been handed down generations, some are fairly new. My mother like to experiment with new things, but she also liked to serve those classics that work with everyone. Such a dish are Stuff Bell Peppers.

When you think of starches for your lunch or supper most of the time one of these come to mind: potatoes, noodles, or rice. But there is another option Germans, especially those in the South, as well as Austrians go for: Spätzle. This particular dish has gained attention in North America as well and I know of some restaurants who serve it here in Saskatoon.

I still had a Red Kuri pumpkin left from my Saturday shopping trip to the Farmers Market. What to do with it? I had pumpkin soup several times so I thought something new would be nice. This recipe comes from Pastasciutta, a German Food blog.
