I always wanted to make some Truffles but never got around to do it. Several pages like Sumptuous Spoonfuls have some lovely ideas on how to go about it. So here I am, making Truffles.

Potato Gratin
I was fairly busy the last days, not with cooking and baking but with other stuff. I barely had time to actually sit down and take care of pictures and posts. Sorry about that. However, I do have a couple of things lined up for you. Lets get started on a fairly simple supper or lunch dish: Potato Gratin.
Potato Soup – A Family Recipe
January is kind of slow when it comes to baking. Christmas is just behind us and there a still some lingering cookies here and there. So, a bit more focus on the cooking side might be not too bad an idea. That’s where this recipe comes in. It’s simple and quick and delicious and, well, you get the point.
Deviled Eggs
Welcome to the new year, 2013. I hope you had a good New Year’s Eve and that you will have a wonderful new year. May all you wish for come true and that you stay healthy and happy.
We were invited to a New Year’s Eve party, which was also a potluck. Honestly, I had not much inspiration so I wanted to do something simple. Deviled eggs fall definitely under that category.
Christmas Meringue
First of all: I am sorry. It’s been 8 days since my last post and I am truly sorry. It’s been so busy here lately that I had no time to either photograph or write. I am baking but I am also baking old recipes that I’ve already posted. For example, I made 15 dozen Raisin Cookies, which left me with 20 egg whites. Some of those were used in the Christmas Macarons, one or two were used for Spitzbuben cookies. But I still have some left and so I made this Christmas Meringue.
Ratatouille – JC 100 Week 11
Wow, I am sorry. I have been gone from the blog for a week. *ups* I didn’t mean to, really! It just happened that I was busy. However, I have not been idle so here we go. Oh, this is a rather lengthy post btw.
The celebration still continues for Julia Child’s 100th birthday, namely by cooking and baking some of her best dishes. One of those dishes is Ratatouille, and although this is from some weeks back, I decided to make it now. The dish is vegetarian so I had to change it up a little bit for my husband, who likes his meat and rarely eats only veggies.
Applesauce Cupcakes with Cream Cheese Icing
Applesauce and cream cheese icing, goes together really good.
What do you do if you have left over cream cheese icing? You search your cupcake book and find out that it has a great index. It not just give you a list of its recipes, no, it even tells you what icing goes with what cupcake. So, I find the Applesauce cupcakes which finish nice with cream cheese icing. Lucky for me it also uses buttermilk, which I had a hint sitting in my fridge. Anyway, I love apples and applesauce, actually one of my favourite baked goods is an applesauce muffin, but that’s a story for another time.
