Christmas Macarons

Apple Bran Muffins

Board Meetings from work are always a great excuse to bake because those meetings take a whole day and people come in from quite a distance and like to have a second breakfast. What is not eaten in the morning will be eaten later in the day.

Book Review: “The I love Trader Joe’s Vegetarian Cookbook” and Easy Eggplant Pasta

I receive “The I love Trader Joe’s Vegetarian Cookbook” the other day in the mail and it was a perfect week for that. Because once a month I am doing a Veggie Week and it sometimes is difficult to find a meal for supper. Now I’ve got a book load full of recipes.

Mini Stollen

It is mid-November and that means Christmas is not too far away. Some Germany Christmas items one will find during December need to be prepared somewhat in advance because their ingredients need to sit to develop the right amount of flavour. One of these items would be the Christmas Stollen, a yeast cake with dried fruits and nuts. Great way to share with friends and family is a mini version.

Ginger Syrup

After 3 weeks of holidays in the old world a.k.a. Germany, I am slowly getting back into my kitchen, writing blog posts and taking pictures. I still have to sort through a bunch of pictures from Germany, put them into their folders and such things, post them too, make CDs fro friends, send some to my grandparents etc. There was a long weekend but alas, we watched TV shows instead (catching up with those ones). Anyway, back to my kitchen, back to baking. Christmas is around the corner…

Weckman – A St.Martin’s Tradition

It’s a celebration about sharing and being a role model to other people, showing kindness even though one doesn’t have much him-/herself. More Food from Our Vacation
